Hospitals’ Failure to Put Prices Public May Be Penalized for Non-Compliance, CMS says.
It was reported by US news that despite the ruling made during Trump’s administration (in 2019)
that hospitals should put their prices on their websites to make it public, still more than half weren’t doing it at this stage.
The Ruling
In 2018, President Trump just signed a long-awaited executive order on healthcare price
transparency that will require hospitals and insurers to reveal “the true prices of healthcare services,” which should include negotiated contract rates and out-of-pocket spending.
The then US President announced this executive order in a speech at the White House on June 24,
